RONAN RAFFERTY

Ronan Rafferty was born in Newry, Northern Ireland on January 13th 1964. Hailed as a child prodigy he lived up to his reputation by winning the British Boys Amateur Championship aged fifteen and played in the Walker Cup aged seventeen after finishing tied for first in the 1980 English Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the Brabazon Trophy.

Turning Professional shortly after led to a career that to date has amassed 16 worldwide victories with his most notable achievement coming in 1989, when he finished top of the European Tour Order of Merit and was part of the European Ryder Cup team to retain the trophy at The Belfry.

Respected for his golf course design and honest views as a commentator and analyst Ronan is now preparing to compete on the European Seniors and Champions Tour in 2014, by regularly teeing it up in TP Tour events around the country.
